Admissions Information - Grades 8-12
Admissions requirements
For students entering 8th-12th grades, Baylor TIP programming is limited to those students who have been identified as Baylor TIP Scholars. The only exception to this is our Super Saturday events, which are always open to anyone.
Identification as a Baylor TIP Scholar can be achieved through assessment or by providing existing test scores. There are three options available:
- Students can participate in an above-level assessment through Baylor TIP, the Indicator of Academic Readiness.
- Students can request Additional GT Testing through Baylor TIP
- Students can provide existing test scores and apply for Alternate Admission
Qualifications Needed to Take the Baylor TIP Assessments
Students qualify to take our above-level assessments through any one of three avenues:
- score in the top 25% on one or more subtests of a state or national standardized exam (local norms are recommended but not required),
- be formally identified as gifted or talented by a district, or
- be recommended by a teacher, administrator, and/or parent.
